- Ask for the business licence scan and check the unified social credit code on the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System (gsxt.gov.cn).
- Check the trademark number on the China National Intellectual Property Administration register (sbj.cnipa.gov.cn).
- Check the patent number on the CNIPA patent search (pss-system.cponline.cnipa.gov.cn).
- Ask for the test reports — not the certificate cover page. A cover page is a picture; a report carries the test house's file number and the measured values.
- Insist the certificate holder's name matches the company you are paying.

For CE, EAC, SASO and SNI the applicant is normally the importer or your own brand entity, because the marking must be declared by the party placing the goods on that market.
